What do NDC volunteers do?
Most of volunteers are aged between 16 and 30 years. What brings them together is a shared concern with problems like racism and discrimination, a shared belief in active civil societies as well as the motivation to work with young people.

To acquire the skills necessary for running project days each of our volunteers is required to participate in an intensive one-week training course. The trainings are lead by senior members of the NDC who hold a specific qualification as trainers.

During the one-week training course, participants receive a thorough introduction to the contents and methods each of our project days is based on. More generally different ways of dealing with group dynamics as well as various moderation techniques are discussed. Ultimately, the guiding principle of the training courses is “learning by doing”. Once the training course has been completed, new volunteers assist an experienced team in class before starting to carry out project days themselves.
